It’s World Health Day today so instead of just dishing out health and fitness advice to others, I’ve put my money where my mouth is and re-joined the gym. I used to go to the gym regularly but let my membership lapse about a year ago. I kept on walking, cycling and doing the odd bit of yoga – but you know what – for me nothing beats a workout in the gym.
I have tried (and really enjoyed) Holmes Place, Virgin Active and Fitness First – which are all great and usually come with fancy changing rooms, a cafe and lots of extras. This time around I have gone for a local leisure facility. Kinetika at Balham Leisure Centre. It’s got everything you need including a decent sized pool and is much more keenly priced than the previously mentioned health clubs.
My goals: to lose a bit of weight, tone up a bit around my middle and get my heart pumping.
Whatever you do today – take a bit of exercise. Your body will love you for it.
