On my recent trip to Phuket, I discovered a lovely, locally produced spa oriented bath and body range. Lemongrass House began its life in 1996 and has received accolades around the world. Produced on the island, it’s now available internationally in 28 countries across the globe.
I used the Lemongrass Shower Gel this morning as a little pick-me-up in the shower (recovering from jet lag) and it instantly transported back to Thailand.
The products are, as you would expect, based on local Thai ingredients. There was a small shop in Surin Beach where I was staying and many of the local restaurants have a bottle of the Lemongrass Mosquito Spray on hand to keep the pesky bugs at bay. The full range of fragrances and essential oils includes Thai Pomelo and Frangipani – two of my favourites.
Lemongrass House prides itself on its ethical production – all products are made from local sources in Thailand, and are all handmade and contain absolutely no perfumes, dyes or sulphates, making them great for the skin, environment and the body. There’s a team of 60 people involved in production and you can now find the range here in the UK.
There’s a real commitment to sustainable production and environmentally friendly products. All product packaging is made from recycled and recyclable materials; all product ingredients are derived from safe, renewable resources; they never use animal ingredients; all Lemongrass House products are SLS sulphate, MI, paraben, dye and perfume free; and they never test their products on animals.
