Situated in the heart of Kolonaki, the Athenian equivalent of London’s Mayfair, I’m told the area has a great vibe and some excellent cafes and shops.
Designed by Nikos Gylos, Don Barber and Groom is a very intimate space, they are calling it a “return to the classic male values”. Naturally, there’s coffee and typical of the new wave of Greek enterprises in Athens, it’s really classy.
The interior embraces a contemporary take on old world elegance which offers a high degree of comfort for its discerning clientele. Leather chairs and a good selection of men’s grooming products.
Yiannis Sakellarakis, the owner has been in the industry for more than 15 years and always had the ambition of opening a 5 star Barber shop in the heart of Athens that included grooming services and Men’s Facials. He is taking the barber experience to next level introducing in Athens a team of barbers (men and women) in their clean cut costumes specially designed for Don Barber and Groom.
I was interested for three reasons: one – it’s a barber shop (I write about male grooming), two, it’s in Greece (I love Greece) and three – the company is using Elemis (it goes without saying – I’m a big fan). The team have incorporated Post Recovery Shave Mask by Elemis into the shaving experience (applied post-shave) lifting the senses with Lime Essential oil – a signature Elemis treatment procedure.
The team have also introduced all classic shaving and barbering services + 15 minute Elemis Booster facials, similar to the ones offered in T5 at Heathrow and T7 at JFK – British Airways Travel Spas.
