Four Seasons Seychelles is a picture of paradise personified. Occupying one of the most beautiful beaches in the Seychelles, the villas (most with private pools) are discreetly built into the surrounding hillside and seamlessly blend into the trees offering an air of exclusivity and privacy for guests. From one room villas to four bedroom residences, the villas are designed with dark wood and modern fixtures and make the most of the views. A highlight is the outdoor shower, terrace and decking area.
The beach is where the main action happens with sun loungers set amongst the palms along the shore. There’s guided snorkelling with Wise Oceans marine conservation which has a partnership with the resort and is working to restore the reef. Sipping cocktails on the beach, a spot of lunch by the pool or lazy walks along the shore, it’s a heavenly location and most definitely Instagram ready.
There’s a large gym on site, just below the lobby and breakfast is served at Zen which also doubles as a great evening restaurant. There’s a sushi bar and the pool cafe/ restaurant Kannel regularly hosts themed food evening from Indian to creole. The food was excellent – everywhere.
The spa at Four Seasons Seychelles
The spa is the main event and is situated high on the hill with the most commanding views across the resort, beach and Indian Ocean beyond. The reception, retail and guest seating area all look out to sea. There’s a small hair studio on a lower floor and on the rooftop you can enjoy a sundown coconut juice whilst capturing the most spectacular sunset scenes.
The spa treatment rooms are reached via a garden path and lead to individual treatment villas. Most are couple’s suites and are self-contained with a bath looking out to sea, shower, toilet, changing space and a very spacious treatment area. This set up is a must in a resort and destination spa and really adds to the luxury experience.
The staff in particular need a special mention. Enthusiastic, engaged and present in the moment, they were warm, welcoming and truly professional. Offering expert advice that goes above and beyond, the team should be congratulated.
On the menu, there is a full range of facials and body treatments offered by ila and Sodashi. There’s also high tech cosmeceutical options from Swiss Perfection. Nail and hair services are available at the spa and there is also a kid’s spa menu with a few fun things to keep the kids amused.
During the stay, which coincided with Sodashi Wellness Week the I was with group enjoyed a welcome chakra balancing meditation listening to the gentle rolling waves. A mountain meditation walk was also a real treat. Climbing to the top of a rocky outcrop overlooking the resort was fantastic with a mediation led by spa team member Ganga. It was a gentle way to end the day.
The treatment – Sodashi Opulent Oud Renewal Therapy
Sodashi is renowned for its chemical-free approach to skincare. The product line, developed by Megan Larsen is outstanding. With fine textures, the best ingredients and beautiful blends that care and cocoon the skin and soul. I was privileged to experience the latest signature Sodashi therapy to be offered at the hilltop Spa at Four Seasons Seychelles. The Oud Renewal Therapy uses pure Oud oil, which at $9,200 per kilo, is one of the most expensive natural raw materials in the world. The deluxe 90-minute treatment works on both face and body to provide a complete head-to-toe experience, leaving guests relaxed, radiant and free of muscle tension.
Opulent Oud Renewal Therapy is a gentle cocooning and harmonising treatment that brings a sense of peace and tranquillity. The treatment was created by Sodashi in collaboration with the spa team at the Four Seasons in Seychelles.
It’s more than relaxation. It takes it to a deeper level using the benefits of Oud Oil (which is divine) combining it with a back scrub using Himalayan salt and oud oil then a full back massage that helps to centre your thoughts and racing mind. Turning over, you are treated to a calming facial that uses acupressure points, little eye masks and a scalp massage and mask to hydrate the skin and hair. The facial continues down the neck and décolleté (or chest for men).
Concluding with chakra balancing and some light tough energy work the treatment finishes with a foot massage.
It’s perfectly pitched, is a treat for the senses and an absolute must for anyone who needs to restore balance and clarity into their life. It was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Soothing, calming and otherworldy. In addition to physical therapy and gorgeous massage techniques it includes some energy healing work and this elevated it to another level. At the conclusion of the face and body treatment I was engulfed in a warm sense of contentment, very peaceful, but very present.
