There are some really hot new spa openings in London 2017 and I for one am very excited. The London spa market operates in a bit of a bubble, and it continues to boom. Although, having said that, across the UK there are some very big projects set to launch this year too. From day spas and urban retreats to the the uber-luxury of five-star properties it appears that our desire for new spa experiences in the capital has not been satisfied. 2017 marks a year of new developments, investment and openings. The City of London is a central focus with the Four Seasons at Ten Trinity Square and The Ned bringing spa luxury to the city. Whilst near Hyde Park, The Lanesborough is opening its Club & Spa.
Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square (March 2017)
From mid-March 2017, Four Seasons is set to open in the City of London. The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square will boast 1,680 square metres and eight spacious treatment rooms, including a spacious Spa Suite for couples and a special Hammam Suite for steam treatments. Shared relaxation amenities include an indoor swimming pool, vitality pool, steam room and sauna.
The Ned (April 2017)
Of all of the new spa openings in London in 2017, this is the one I am most interested to see. Set to open in the former Midland Bank in the City of London, The Ned is a highly anticipated project from the Soho House group and partners the Sydell Group. Set is a Grade-I listed, 11-storey building the project will introduce a 252 room hotel, club and spa with numerous restaurants and is set to open in April 2017. It promises a subterranean Cowshed Spa and 20 metre indoor lap pool in a former vault and a hammam with pink marble sourced from Devon; a gym with boxing ring; and outposts of Cheeky nail bar and Neville barbershop.
The Lanesborough Club & Spa
The Lanesborough Club & Spa is another highly anticipated launch given its partnership with some internationally renowned star spa partners. The Lanesborough Club & Spa will be one of London’s most exclusive private members fitness and health clubs, offering hotel guests and club members access to internationally recognised experts in the fields of fitness, beauty and wellness – with a 360° approach to wellbeing. Drawing on the expertise of Beata Aleksandrowicz (massage), James Duigan from Bodyism (fitness) and Anastasia Achilleos (facials), the spa has ensured it has some of the world’s best experts on board to deliver world-class treatments. It will also offer Ila, La Prairie treatments and products.
The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, London (2018)
And finally, The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, London is about to undergo a major refurbishment which will see hospitality designer Adam D. Tihany oversee the re-design of the hotel’s “next-generation” spa, to complement a recently installed contemporary pool and fitness area. The new project facility promises to expand the offering to include couples’ facilities and an exclusive Mandarin Oriental Spa Studio concept. Watch this space.
