I am a fan of the Mandarin Oriental group of hotels and the latest launch in Milan marks a period of expansion in Europe. Last year the new resort in Bodrum, Turkey opened to great acclaim, and later this year Marrakech is set to open. And the next few years will see a Mandarin Oriental launching in Marbella and Istanbul.

Mandarin Oriental, Milan is an intimate and contemporary hotel housed within four elegantly redeveloped 18th century buildings, with a distinctly residential feel. The 104 elegant rooms and suites offer the most stylish and spacious accommodation in the city. Situated on the central Via Andegari, just a few steps away from the fashionable Via Manzoni and Montenapoleone, the hotel is perfectly located, with easy access to the city’s most important commercial, fashion and cultural centres.
The property combines contemporary Italian design by internationally renowned studio Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel Interiors, with timeless oriental luxury and service, to provide a comfortable and well-appointed environment.
Occupying 900 square metres of perfect design and proportion, The Spa at Mandarin Oriental is said to be the first in Milan to offer a holistic approach to rejuvenation and relaxation in a tranquil, meditative setting. Offering a wide range of treatments, therapies and signature programmes which are tailor-made to the individual, they provide a completely bespoke experience for every guest.
The Spa at the Mandarin Oriental Milan offers a complete menu of treatments, including Mandarin Oriental Signature Therapies, developed with Chinese Medicine specialists and aromatherapy experts.
The journeys, treatments and experiences offered at The Spa represent a marriage of east and west. Based on profound oriental knowledge, they have been developed over centuries and draw on Mandarin Oriental’s experience in the field of holistic wellbeing, while the products used are made from the finest Italian ingredients, including honey, rose oil, olive oil, oregano seeds and frankincense.
The three different product lines used in treatments at The Spa are also offered for sale. They include paraben-free Aromatherapy Associates products made exclusively for Mandarin Oriental from natural ingredients, and the potent ESPA collection of radically effective formulations developed at Italy’s first spa that contain only the purest extracts and active elements. The third product line is Clinica Ivo Pitanguy developed by famous Brazilian cosmetic surgeon, Dr Ivo Pitanguy, whose clients include international celebrities, royalty and socialites, and which features natural ingredients from Brazil blended in Switzerland.
