AQUA SANA AT CENTER PARCS SPA
Just 50 minutes from London St Pancras by train, Aqua Sana at Center Parcs, Woburn Forest is as large, as it is impressive. At 7,200sq metres it manages to impress on arrival and retain some delightful secrets so that the spa journey is interesting, varied and enjoyable.
Set deep in the forest, and cut into the side of a hill, the spa makes full use of the splendid views. And inside, the light and airy design blends with soft furnishings, a contemporary colour palette and leafy prints to ensure that the forest theme is evident in a stylish modern way.
There’s no denying, this is a massive spa project. Set over two floors, Aqua Sana boasts 22 treatment rooms; Pedicure Suite; two post treatment relaxation rooms; Serail Mud Suite and 25 experience rooms with varying temperatures from cold through temperate to hot, hot, hot.
There are so many thermal experiences at Aqua Sana at Centre Parcs Woburn Forest that I missed half of them. I headed straight to the salt steam room to clear my sinuses and help to alleviate a touch of hay fever. The mix of heat and cold experiences is innovative, varied and includes some new features I haven’t come across before.
The six spas are; Fire & Ice, Mineral & Gemstone, Blossom, Herbal, Sensory and Salt; each one with a variety of multi-sensory experience rooms. There’s enough to occupy the most jaded person for a few hours and a spa devotee – a whole day or more.
This is spa on a grand scale (you might say for the masses). Center Parcs has over 600 cabins on site and the spa is also open to day spa guests. They assure me the numbers will be limited to around 160 at any one time. There are ample spaces to rest, relax and chill out throughout the spa with seating, sofas and chill out rooms, but if it’s a hot day and everyone wants to head to the pool it might get a touch crowded.
And speaking of the outdoor pool, I loved it. Powerful water jets and an infinity edge, looking straight out to the trees. It’s a pure forest experience.

THE BEST BITS:
The forest views
Salt steam room
Aqua Meditation Room
The outdoor infinity pool
Reflexology foot baths
ROOM TO IMPROVE:
I thought the spa cafe would have had fresh juices (aside from just orange). And on entry I didn’t understand how to use the reflexology foot baths and wasn’t shown.
