Principe di Savoia is a member of the prestigious Dorchester Collection and places service and guest satisfaction with excellence and innovation at the heart of its spa offering. It’s refined, elegant and welcoming. A magnet for celebrity clientele, it is the destination of choice for the likes of Lady Gaga, Madonna, George Clooney, Woody Allen, David Beckham and One Direction. Firmly on the party circuit during Milan Fashion Week, the hotel has been a landmark in the city since it was built in 1927. The spa shares the top floor with the presidential suite, which also has its own private indoor pool and spa facilities.
The spa facilities in Club 10 include male and female changing rooms, five treatments rooms, a manicure area and retail space within reception. What I loved is the outdoor wraparound terrace and relaxation area with views across Milan. On a sunny day (and there are many in Mialn) this is definitely the place to be.
The pool and thermal area is again, on the top floor in a glass-enclosed space, with heated swimming pool 60sqm with additional hydro-massage tub, sauna and Turkish bath.
The spa boasts a compact, but perfectly formed fitness suite that looks out across the city, with high-tech gym boasting state-of-the-art Technogym cardiovascular equipment, resistance machines and free weights, all featuring personal television and radio.
Acqua di parma
A deep tissue massage has to be one of life’s pleasures, but not every spa delivers a great treatment. That’s not a problem at Principe di Savoia’s, Club 10. The spa has an expert male massuse on hand. Interestingly, when people book a massage they are given an option for a male or female therapist and most of the women I heard were booking the male massuse – wanting to ensure a firm massage. I can confirm that he was excellent and had a firm hand and expert touch. The Spa Man 2 opted for an anti-ageing facial with Thalgo. The Key Anti-wrinkle treatment is a cleansing and refreshing facial that relies on the properties of hyaluronic acid which quickly works to plump the skin and help to reduce the appearance of fine lines. It’s refreshing and revitalising.
Key anti-wrinkle treatment – 55 minutes – 90 euros
Massage – from 70 euros
