LUX* Le Morne is a relaxing resort tucked away in a quiet corner of Mauritius. Hugging the coast with a stretch of private beach, it’s tranquil lagoon setting ensures a chilled vibe and relaxed atmosphere for spa fans and beach lovers.
It has the most dramatic setting of any property on the island, backed by the dramatic peak of Le Morne Brabant, a breath taking UNESCO World Heritage site and makes for a picturesque stay in this magical corner of Mauritius.
Landscaped gardens, four pools and 600 metres of white sandy beaches give LUX* Le Morne a true sense of a tropical escape. All rooms are sea facing with a mix of superior rooms and suites are just a few steps away from the beach.
There are plenty of activities to keep you occupied. The boat house offers everything from paddle boarding to water skiing or you can head out to sea to go swimming with the Dolphins in the early morning sunshine. The food at all three restaurants is fabulous and in particular the Thai restaurant Nira, is most impressive. LUX* really gets things right with its unique offerings and none more so than the launch of Cafe LUX* which serves excellent (freshly roasted) coffee plus milk shakes and cakes and my favourite – free pancakes for afternoon tea. Nightly entertainment ensures you are never bored and then there’s the spa.
LUX* ME – THE SPA AT LUX* LE MORNE:
On arrival at LUX* ME you are welcomed with a cool refreshing towel and a spritz of orange flower blossom, which is a heady scent to begin the spa journey. Peaceful and serene, the treatment menu offers a lighter, brighter path to serenity. Wellness is at the core of the spa concept and everything has a fresh feel.
The extensive spa menu integrates health and wellness in an innovative way. Unique to LUX* Resorts is the dedicated wellness concierge who can personally programme the guest’s spa and wellness activities tailored to their needs combining fitness assessment with tips on diet and activities which link to the chosen treatment programme. Integrate yoga and meditation with high tech facials from Shirley Page or a selection of international therapies from across the world including Thai and Balinese massage.
I experienced a Body Balance Anaylsis with the Wellness Concierge who advised me about posture and a few problems with gait and balance. These notes were forwarded onto the spa so that my therapist could attend to these concerns during my massage. This integrated approach was excellent. The next day I was put through my paces with some High Intensity Interval Training on the beach. Exercising in the bright morning sunshine, sprinting in and out of the ocean was an experience to remember for a lifetime.
Pools and gardens with flowing fountains create a tranquil ambiance for the treatment rooms. You are offered green tea or the signature cold infusion of citronella and ginger. Wood and nature dominate the décor. There is a hammam and sauna on site to enjoy plus a full y equipped fitness centre. After the treatment you can relax in an outdoor cabin or double longer by th private relaxation garden and pool. It’s heavenly especially as there are lots of birds fly in and out of garden. Wellness at its very best.
THE TREATMENT: LUX ME* SIGNATURE MASSAGE:
These Signature Massage treatments were tailored following the body balance analysis and combined with the therapist consultation to create a totally unique experience. After you choose an oil (in conjunction with your therapist) you enjoy a salt cleansing foot bath then its time to rest face down on the bed for a heavenly massage. The full body treatment focuses on the particular needs was both thorough and blissful. It includes a little stretching and some shiatsu style massage and features head and facial massage. I fell blissfully asleep towards the end. Divine.
