Set in Gatwick North, the Travel Spa at the No.1 Traveller Lounge is a small and friendly space, located near the entrance to the spacious travel lounge. You pay per visit and don’t need to be a member of an airline travel club. The Gatwick lounge is big and caters to a different crowd than the Heathrow one I visited last year (read that here), it’s got much more of a holiday vibe. Food and drinks are included in your entrance fee. The spa has just launched Dermalogica® too – so I set off to give it a trial run on my way through Gatwick to Barcelona.
The Travel Spa offers a range of bespoke Dermalogica® treatments and packages which are available exclusively at No.1 Traveller’s Travel Spas in Heathrow’s Terminal 3 and Gatwick’s North Terminal. These are customised pre-flight treatments designed to fit into the schedule of the holiday maker or business traveller. They have created a menu of micro treatments that are focused on delivering instant results – fast, plus a few pampering longer therapies (for people who have a bit more time on their hands). You can also experience the Dermalogica® Face Mapping skin analysis free of charge.
Dermalogica®, Aromatherapy Associates, OPI and Artistic nail care
I went for the new Dermalogica® MicroZone® Men’s Skin Fitness treatment which offers a quick scrub and cleanse followed by a fruit enzyme mask and boost of hydration. In 20 minutes, this treatment also includes steam and extraction. It’s amazing what you can squeeze into an express treatment. The enzyme mask was great, it was a mixture of fine granules. It was a bit hard to remove from my beard, but that’s just one of those things. Taking 20 minutes out of your pre-flight boarding ritual also helps to really calm you down and get you into holiday mode. I’m well impressed and for £20 – it’s an indulgence worth treating yourself to.
Well worth the visit and a good way to hydrate the skin pre-flight.
Dermalogica® MicroZone® Men’s Skin Fitness – £20 for 20 mins.
Entrance to Gatwick North Lounge – £27.50 per adult
