Neom Organics Wimbledon Village Store The Spa Man

Review: Neom Organics Treatment Rooms, Wimbledon

THE TREATMENT ROOMS: Neom Organics launched its flagship store (complete with treatment rooms) in Wimbledon Village last year. Bringing the brand to a wider audience and introducing the treatments, the store is light, bright, inviting and a sensorial adventure. From candles to room mists and oils to room diffusers, the range is vast and attends to the ills and troubles of mood, energy, sleep and stress. Neom has captured a unique place in the wellness market and specialises in scent, if you are looking to soothe or boost your mood, then this is the place. THE TREATMENT: A recent innovation, Neom has created a number of wellbeing treatments which take a different approach to therapy. Instead of choosing what treatment you are having, you experience the Science of Scent ritual combined with a therapist consultation to determine what your body needs, which, according the Neom is often different from what your mind tells you. After the scent test (you smell one of four candles for each ritual) I needed sleep as Tranquillity is the scent …

Review: Ushvani Spa, London

THE SPA: Ushvani Spa is a hidden oasis of tranquillity in a listed terrace building in the heart of London’s Chelsea. Dark wood abounds throughout the spa which suits the South East Asian theme. Blending a holistic approach to clients with a mix of Asian inspired treatments, it had an authenticity that many “eastern” spas in the UK can’t match. The spa has a host of quality facilities including four treatment rooms – but guys – you can’t access most of them. You can have a treatment and use the tea relaxation room, but the water and thermal suite is out of bounds. For the ladies you can enjoy full access to these: spa pool, steam room and relaxation room. THE TREATMENT: The Ushvani Warming Herbal Ritual was created especially for winter, to warm and comfort the body and soul. And it certainly does. Fragrant (thanks to the oils and herbal compresses) this is truly Oriental and perfect on a cold winter’s day. Inspired by movements from traditional Nuad Bo-Rarn Thai massage, Thai reflexology and …

Mondrian London opens with new spa

A new hotel opening in London always creates a buzz and if there’s a spa involved (which there usually is) then that’s where my ears prick up. Mondrian London opens today and brings life to Sea Containers House on London’s South Bank. It’s Tom Dixon’s first crack at a hotel and first reports are glowing. The idea behind it was to create a transatlantic hotel with nautical influences that combines the best of Britain and America. You will find a restaurant, bar and lounge overlooking the river, a basement spa, a crafted midnight-blue screening room with brass detailing and 360 bedrooms each with a calm, cabin-like quality. The Tom Dixon designed agua Bathhouse & Spa at Mondrian London has been crafted as a social spa which adds some life to the placid London spa scene and will be working with exciting brands such as de mamiel, GLAMGLOW, Estelle and Thild, Soveral, CIATÉ, Dr Jackson’s Natural Products, Natura Bisse, Billion Dollar Brows, Lycon Waxing, Lola’s Apothecary and I Love My Muff. It’s definitely taking a different …

Pure Flow at Bulgari

The Spa at The Bulgari Hotel & Residences, London, has launched a range of Pure Flow Pulsation treatments so I went along to try out this weird and wonderful counter-pulsation therapy. It’s designed to boost circulation, increase energy and to restore equilibrium, it is truly one of the oddest things I have ever tried. You are connected to the machine with straps and a heart monitor that pumps air to massage your legs and thighs in time with your heartbeat.  The theory is that it simulates circulation and lymph drainage – which is great during a detox programme and perfect to help remedy jet lag and aching muscles after a long flight. It was uplifting and awakening too – I was alert and really felt great as a result. No creams or potions are used. You hop into a pair of spa pyjamas and can dim the lights to sleep or read. Immediately afterwards my legs felt lighter, but after a series of 4 treatments in 4 days, they felt trim, toned and pretty incredible. …
