Thierry Mugler launches A*MEN Ultra Zest

Bright, vibrant and in your face, the packaging for the new A*MEN Ultra Zesty Eau de Toilette sets the tone for what you get in the bottle. It’s bursting with citrus, but has a sweetness to it that makes it a great spring/summer scent for any man. Quite quickly the citrus notes give way to woody tones and it has a spicy-ness that is reminiscent of previous limited edition fragrances from Thierry Mugler. A*MEN Ultra Zesty Eau de Toilette is a limited edition launch for spring, and is the perfect cocktail of woody, spicy and citrus notes. You will instantly pick up on the fresh scents of mandarin, blood orange and ginger which are my favourite of the blend. Read the blurb and there’s a touch of cinnamon, coffee and black pepper. Now I couldn’t pick these out individually – but they come across with a pleasing spicy touch. When the fragrance settles there is a fine mix of vanilla, patchouli and tonka bean which ensure that this is a sophisticated and sensual scent. I …

Charity shout-out for Decembeard

There’s no doubt you will have heard of Movember, and seen a host of men sporting Mo’s for charity. Less well known, but no less important is Decembeard. Since 2011, the charity, Beating Bowel Cancer has invited guys to take part in this fundraising challenge, helping to raise money for those affected by bowel cancer by getting sponsored to – you guessed it – grow a beard – in December. Beards are still on a high, so it’s very on-trend and with a great cause. This year L’Oreal Men Expert has joined in support of the campaign, which is hoping to raie £250,000. I liked the image that L’Oreal has created – shared below as it sums it all up nicely. Pro shave with Philips

Electric shavers are a great gift for the hard to buy for Dad, brother or brother-in-law. Whilst I tend to wet shave most of the time, when I travel (with hand baggage) an electric shaver will travel with me in the cabin, whilst a blade often gets confiscated. So, for a short haul hand baggage only trip, it’s an electric shaver for me. So, I got to try the Philips PT920 PowerTouch Pro Shaver from John Lewis. Charge it fully in just 1 hour (bonus), to enjoy up to 60+ minutes of cordless power (which means you can walk around, drink your tea and watch TV whilst you shave). What’s quite cool is that when you forget to re-charge, there’s a 3 minutes quick charge provides enough power for one shave. Adjusting to the contours of your face it’s designed to give a really close shave – and I can confirm that’s very true. Nice to hold, good clean finish and all-in-all it’s a good shaver. When it comes down to the nitty gritty, I …

It features essential items for your hair, body and face from high-end brands inlcuding: Aesop, Baxter of California, Czech & Speake, D R Harris, Le Labo, Malin + Goetz and one of my favourites, Perricone MD.
