4 of the best shave creams

I’m still getting to grips with shave creams, preferring a much lazier option of a gel that foams. I sometimes add in a shave oil, but always do plenty of prep and warm my face with a hot face cloth and even scrub in advance sometimes. so I put some to the test to create a hot list of 4 of the best shave creams. So, the shave cream. It’s designed to act as a shave medium and lubricant for the blade. Usually more hydrating and caring for the skin (gels and foams can be drying) these are great if you have sensitive skin. I do find they take a little more work and extra rinsing from the blade. That said, they are kinder to the skin so worth the effort. Here’s my pick of the best: Molton Brown Skin-Calm Shaving Cream This is from the new Molton Brown men’s skincare range and as the name says is crafted with skin calming properties. Great for sensitive skin with barley extract to calm and prep the …

Molton Brown launches new men’s range

Molton Brown has launched a new Men’s Grooming Collection based on three concepts: cleanse, shave and treat. Designed to deliver high performance results by caring for the skin pre- and post-shave, leaving it healthy and soft. It’s formulated with African whitewood extract for oil control and barley extract to replenish the skin’s protective barrier which also aids in the renewal of cell membranes. I’m due to give the products a trial run, but picked a couple to highlight in advance. Balancing Face Wash, £18/100ml Cleanse skin without affecting its natural PH balance with this gentle yet effective face wash. African whitewood extract combats excess shine and dirt whilst softening the beard bristles, ready for the perfect shave. Razor-glide Shaving Gel, £22/150ml A lightweight, soothing gel that gives a precise, cushion-soft shave. African whitewood extract combats shine and preps both bristles and the skin for the closet shave. www.moltonbrown.co.uk

Molton Brown launches new sport range

THE STORY: Hot on the heals of its 40th anniversary comes the launch of Molton Brown Sport. A capsule collection of 3 products all targeted squarely at men and designed for the active guy. Of course you could be a fat, lazy pig and use them, but for me – this is the ultimate gym kit essentials range. THE SCIENCE: It’s channeling Vietnam in the fragrance line and ingredients. I picked up the lime and do agree, its great for after a work out. Fresh, light and uplifting. It also contains Cassia Bark and nutmeg (for a touch of spice). Guar gum helps to soften stubble THE VERDICT: My favourite is definitely the 4-in-1 Sportswash, it’s multi-purpose – tick, it smells great – tick and it does exactly what it says – tick. Use it as a shampoo, face wash, shaving gel or body wash to keep you clean and fresh. Now your gym kit is pared down from 4 products to one. I wouldn’t use this as my daily face wash – might be …

This new launch will be sold exclusively in store at Harrods and moltonbrown.co.uk. Inspired by Molton Brown’s seventies roots, Giles’ design fuses his trademark style seemlessly with the brand and it’s unmistakable logo. This keepsake marks Molton Brown’s journey from hand-mixing products above a salon in London’s South Molton Street to the global success the brand enjoys today, with products available in over 70 countries worldwide. circa 1973

40 years is a long time in any game and this year, Molton Brown is celebrating that very milestone with a Limited Edition Patchouli & Saffron Collection. A fitting tribute to the 70’s, the blend itself harks back to the year that ABBA first hit the airwaves with Ring, Ring. We are talking – 1973. I’m a huge fan of Molton Brown and the journey from hand mixing products above a salon floor in South Molton Street to the present day where you’ll fine it in high-end department stores and 5 star hotels is impressive. I have to say that on first impressions, I had to reserve my judgement on this scent. It’s quite floral and the inclusion of rose is fairly prominent. The Body Lotion is way too feminine for a guy (in my opinion), the shower gel – that certainly has a summery appeal and wouldn’t be out of place on a summer holiday – when the sun is shining, it’s hot outside and cocktail hour is drawing near. Patchouli and Saffron does …
