ivea Men Anti-irritation Body Shaving Range

Nivea Men Anti-irritation Body Shaving range launches

Nivea Men has responding to public demand by launching a new range of products specifically for body shaving. Simply called – Nivea Men Anti-irritation Body Shaving range – it does what it says on the tin. According to the experts, men are swayed by the buff bodies of Love Island, and some 64 % of men now shaving some part of their body (research by Nivea). It also appears that, until now they have been using facial shaving gels, shampoo and shower gels to try and get a smooth body shave. This can (again according to the survey) cause irritation amounts those asked. I hold my hands up and declare I only clipper body hair (shoulders and back), I proudly maintain my chest hair and legs – they don’t bother me. But whether its for sport, fitness or the latest celebrity look for Instagram, smooth shaved bodies for guys appears to be here to stay. And let’s be honest, Nivea wouldn’t develop a range if it didn’t thin it would sell.   Nivea Men Anti-Irritation Body …

Dorco Razors launch in the UK

In what is already a very crowded arena, Dorco Razors launch in the UK. Dominated by two major mass market brands, the shaving sector has shifted recently with the launch of bespoke, tailored subscription razors and they have really started to muscle in on the action. Cornerstone is the one that I’ve been most impressed with over the past few years. Read about Cornerstone here So, how does Dorco think it can gain a slice of the cut-throat razor market? 4 of the best shave creams

I’m still getting to grips with shave creams, preferring a much lazier option of a gel that foams. I sometimes add in a shave oil, but always do plenty of prep and warm my face with a hot face cloth and even scrub in advance sometimes. so I put some to the test to create a hot list of 4 of the best shave creams. So, the shave cream. It’s designed to act as a shave medium and lubricant for the blade. Usually more hydrating and caring for the skin (gels and foams can be drying) these are great if you have sensitive skin. I do find they take a little more work and extra rinsing from the blade. That said, they are kinder to the skin so worth the effort. Here’s my pick of the best: Molton Brown Skin-Calm Shaving Cream This is from the new Molton Brown men’s skincare range and as the name says is crafted with skin calming properties. Great for sensitive skin with barley extract to calm and prep the …

Regal Gentleman

Online retail destinations for men are booming. It’s where most men shop for personal care and grooming products and Mintel found that some 3 in 4 men purchasing their grooming products online (USA). Recently I’ve come across a new site – Regal Gentleman, which has a great little story.  Formed in early 2014 by Josh Blackburn and Liam Jennings, both from London and just 21 years old. They got the idea from visiting a barber shop, and felt there was a gap in the market for an online grooming retailer. Well, there are a lot of men’s grooming retailers – so what makes them different? Placing an emphasis on personalised service with a great customer experience, each product is tested by the guys before being listed on the site, and for me it’s the diverse range of interesting brands that really gives Regal Gentleman a point of difference. Some nice, unique and really interesting products lines including two of my favourites: Sothys and Bodhi & Birch. The list continues with Jack Black, The Bluebeards Revenge, …

It must be Neville

With a rich heritage (it comes from the people behind Cowshed) NEVILLE has been crafted for a city guy (mostly) and is loaded with natural ingredients that work hard to deliver results. Designed to act as a self-defence system against life’s natural aggressors: grime, pollution, weather and stress, all known to wreak havoc on skin and hair. It’s keen to promote its British credentials (great) and NEVILLE creates a premium feel, it’s very modern, you could say very Shoreditch, and naturally as it’s available at Shoreditch House. It’s all fairly no-nonsense, clear cut, straight forward and has a collection of 12 products that do what they say. I’ve picked out my favourites below. NEVILLE Face Reviver 50ml: RRP £25.00 Non-greasy daily use shield to protect skin against aggressive everyday elements. The blend of Vitamin A and E will help prevent inflammation repair damage, while Aloe Vera soothes, heals and hydrates thirsty skin. NEVILLE Shave Oil 50ml: RRP £20.00 Skin nourishing oil for a close shave. Natural essential Organic Olive and Jojoba Seed oils (packed full …

100% Jojoba

Any Australian product that comes across my desk always gets a second look from me. I am, after all from “Down Under”. Born and bred. This is a new one to me. It’s marketed as a multi-tasker and as its a pure oil – its does just that. 100% Natural Australian Jojoba Oil (30ml £12.99, 85ml £19.99) is being tauted as a shave oil, post-shave hydrator and even beard oil. As it acts like natural sebum, it helps to protect and condition facial hair. It also has anti-inflammatory properties, and can safely and effectively heal shaving nicks and in-grown hairs. It does have a good glide and protects the skin from razor burn. I’m usually a bit lazy to use a shave oil AND shave gel. But when I can be bothered (remember) I really notice the difference in finish. Here’s a couple of top tips: Shave Prep: Apply Jojoba Oil to your skin before applying shaving cream or foam and rub it into your skin for a more comfortable shave. After shave moisturiser: Apply …

Steamcream go mo for Movember

This – I like. STEAMCREAM is supporting Movember this year by releasing limited edition Mo and Mini Mo Moisturisers.  They feature the signature Movember moustache on the STEAMCREAM original tin – each filled with the award winning moisturiser. By now you should already know that Movember is the men’s health charity responsible for raising awareness for men’s prostate and testicular cancer and mental health.   STEAMCREAM has pledged to donate 10% of all proceeds to the Movember Charitable Foundation. Top tips from STEAMCREAM STEAMCREAM is versatile, it can be used as a shaving cream, a soothing after shave balm, face, body and hand moisturiser, or even a styling hair product. Containing chamomile, lavender and rose – combined with oatmeal and jojoba STEAMCREAM’s essential oils work together to reduce redness and calm razor rash. The skin under a newly formed moustache can become exceptionally dry (I speak from experience with this), so simply massage a small amount of STEAMCREAM through the hairs of your moustache with your fingertips, and finish with a small comb through. So what’s …
