The winners of the World Spa and Wellness Awards 2018 were announced at a glamorous black-tie dinner on Sunday, February 25 at Tobacco Dock in London. Highlighting the very best spas from around the world, the awards, launched in 2012, are designed to honour hotel and resort spas in five regions: Western Europe & Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa, North & South America and Asia & Australasia. The awards also comprise the Worldwide Health & Wellness Destination category, open to properties anywhere in the world where wellbeing is at the core of the business.
One of the leading honours in the industry, the awards acknowledge excellence of care, service and standards and aim to inspire spas around the world and raise global industry standards.
Organised by the UK-based Professional Beauty group, which has hosted spa and beauty awards for two decades, the World Spa & Wellness Awards incorporate a thorough and independent judging process in which all spas are assessed by experienced industry professionals.

The Worldwide Health & Wellness Destination of the Year category recognises exceptional treatments, training, team performance, facilities and surroundings, highlighting great achievements by global wellness properties that are truly world leaders in their field.
All finalists have been assessed by a panel of independent industry experts, including an official judge who visited the properties, looking at their performance across a wide range of criteria.
Eve Oxberry, Head of Editorial for World Spa & Wellness magazine, said: “Being crowned as a winner at the World Spa and Wellness Awards is an accolade to be truly proud of. The judging process is one of the most rigorous in the industry as spas must prove their commitment to providing excellent facilities and innovative treatments delivered with technical expertise. We look at every aspect of their business and mystery shop each and every spa. I’d like to extend my congratulations to the Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary & Holistic Spa for offering an outstanding customer experience.”
