It was hard to pick just six of the best spas for Father’s Day, but here you will find great spas that also offer Dad something else. It could be fantastic food like at The Vineyard at Stockcross or outdoor activities like at Bovey Castle. Naturally there are lots of golfing hotels and spas. But I’ve also added one for the total spa enthusiast – the recently launched Rudding Park. So if you are looking to treat Dad this year, check out the best spas for Father’s Day.

The Spa at Rudding Park near Harrogate has a roof top spa garden, lots of hydro and heat facilities and men love it. It’s definitely one of the very best spas for Father’s Day. It complements the smart, modern hotel and with the addition of the modern bistro Horto featuring seasonally inspired dishes by Chef Murray Wilson it makes Rudding Park the place to stay and spa in Yorkshire. For the hard to please – Old Course Hotel at St Andrews

The Kohler Waters Spa at St Andrews has just had a multi-million pound redevelopment and now boasts two pools, lots of hydrotherapy facilities and a great gym. The treatments are first-class. Naturally, golf is a huge draw here. But beyond that – there are great walks on the beach (famed location of Chariots of Fire) great food on offer and the town of St Andrews is worth a visit. Book Dad in for the Rainman Treatment – it’s designed specifically for men and combines vichy shower hot stones and massage. It’s one of a kind. £134 for 75 mins.

Celtic Manor - The Spa Man

For the golf fan – Celtic Manor Resort

The five-star Celtic Manor Resort is set in more than 2,000 acres of panoramic parkland at the gateway to Wales. It has two hotels and three Championship Golf Courses (yes three), it was the host venue for the Ryder Cup in 2010 and a must-visit for any golfing Dad in the family. There are two spas on site, the Forum Spa has won a host of accolades and the Ocius Rooms are a newer offering. There are a range of spa breaks on the website – The Sunday Spa Rollover is probably the pick of the bunch. Dinner, bed and breakfast, spa treatment, use of the facilities and starting at £115 per person (based on two sharing).

Set in the grounds of a thousand year old estate, Stoke Park was the first ever country club in Britain, founded in 1908. Golf is the main attraction, but for Dad this Father’s Day it should be the spa. Set in The Pavillion, it combines heath club, indoor heated pool, relaxation room, Italian marble steam rooms, hair salon, and relaxation atrium with a five metre tropical aquarium. It is a huge complex, with loads of staff (who were all friendly and attentive) and a great range of treatments. Boasting a top restaurant from Daniel Galmiche (Saturday Kitchen) and a wine cellar of over 30,000 wines, The Vineyard Spa is definitely for the Foodie Father.
